JED ARNOLD TAKES OATH OF OFFICE

Richmond, VA - Today, Jed Arnold took the oath of office and began serving the people of the 6th District in the Virginia House of Delegates.  Arnold won the Special Election held on Tuesday, August 29th to serve the remainder of Delegate Jeff Campbell's term.  Arnold is the Republican nominee in the newly drawn 46th House of Delegates District and will appear on the November 7, 2023 General Election ballot.

JED ARNOLD SECURES REPUBLICAN NOMINATION IN 6TH DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION

Saltville, VA - Today, Jed Arnold secured the Republican nomination in the 6th House of Delegates district special election on August 29th. Last week, Governor Youngkin called for a special election to fill the remainder of Delegate Jeff Campbell’s term after a judicial appointment. Due to redistricting, the 6th District will no longer exist after the new year. Jed is also the Republican nominee for the 46th Delegate District.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to continue serving the 6th District,” said Jed Arnold. “I am incredibly grateful to Governor Youngkin, Attorney General Miyares, Republican House Leadership, and Delegates throughout Southwest Virginia for supporting ourcampaign. I will continue Delegate Campbell’s legacy of representing our district with integrity through the remainder of the term.”

Born and raised in Saltville, VA, Jed has spent his entire life in Southwest Virginia. Jed attended Appalachian School of Law and now has a general practice law firm. Since 2015, he served as the legislative assistant to Delegate Jeff Campbell, drafting legislation, meeting stakeholders, and addressing constituent issues. Jed resides in Saltville with his wife, Melanie, and their son, Jack.

ARNOLD TO FILE FOR 6th DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION REPUBLICAN NOMINATION

Special election to fill vacant 6th District House of Delegates seat set for August 29, 2023 —

 

Marion, Virginia – Republican candidate Jed Arnold announced he will seek the Republican nomination for the vacant 6th District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates at the Republican Nomination Event.

 

Governor Glenn Youngkin issued a writ for a special election on Friday August 4, 2023 to fill the vacancy created by the recent resignation of Delegate Jeffrey L.Campbell (R-Smyth). The special election is scheduled for August 29, 2023.

 

Arnold intends to promptly file the necessary paperwork with the Republican Legislative District Committee once the nomination process is determined and the paperwork is available.

 

The Sixth District is composed of the counties of Carroll, Wythe and portions of Smyth County. Campbell resigned from the House of Delegates in July.  The winner of the called Special Election will serve the remainder of Campbell's term which expires on January 10, 2024.

 

“I would like to thank Governor Youngkin for issuing the writ of election. This ensures that the Sixth District will be represented in the House for the rest of Delegate Campbell’s term,” Arnold said. “For the past eight years I have served the Sixth District as Delegate Campbell’s legislative assistant. I am excited and honored for the opportunity to continue to serve the district as it’s Delegate in the House.”

 

Arnold is unopposed in the upcoming November general election for the newly-drawn 46th House District. The 46th House District includes all of Grayson, Smyth, and Wythe counties and portions of Pulaski County.  The winner of the General Election will take office on January 10, 2024.

 

Arnold, a Saltville native and an attorney with Kilgore Law Office, P.L.L.C., served as the legislative assistant to Delegate Jeff Campbell from 2015 until Campbell’s resignation. He assisted the Sixth District Delegate with bill drafting, stakeholder meetings and constituent services.

 

Arnold resides in Saltville with his wife, Melanie, and son, Jack. He has been active in youth sports, serving as a volunteer little league baseball coach. Arnold is a 1997 graduate of Northwood High School (Saltville, Va.), a 2003 graduate of Radford University, and a 2015 graduate of the Appalachian School of Law. He and his family attend the Rich Valley Presbyterian Church.
